Create Your First Appointment Booking
Use this flow for staff appointments, room reservations, equipment hire, consultations, and other services with constrained availability.
- Create a resource under Bookup → Resources → Add Resource before creating the appointment.
- Give the resource a name, type, capacity, timezone, and active status.
- Set weekly availability. Leave both time fields empty for days off.
- Add exceptions for holidays, leave, special hours, or temporary capacity changes, then save the resource.
- Go to Offerings → Add New and choose Appointment as the offering type.
- Add the appointment title, description, and schedule. Use a recurring schedule for regular appointment slots.
- Open Booking → Services and add at least one service with a name, price, and count.
- In the service scheduling settings, choose whether Bookup auto-assigns a resource or lets the customer choose one.
- Select eligible resources and choose a capacity rule. Add buffer time before or after the service if setup or cleanup is needed.
- Publish the offering and complete a public test booking.
How Availability Is Calculated
Section titled “How Availability Is Calculated”For resource-based bookings, Bookup considers the offering session, the resource’s active status, weekly availability, exceptions, configured capacity, and the service’s resource assignment settings. A valid resource must satisfy every relevant rule.
