Payments

Open Bookup → Settings → Payment to choose the checkout method and configure available gateways.

Choose a Payment Method

When WooCommerce Cart integration is available, Bookup offers two approaches:

• WooCommerce Cart: Send selected booking options to the WooCommerce cart, then use WooCommerce’s checkout and configured gateways.
• Independent Gateways: Keep checkout inside Bookup and present Bookup’s enabled payment gateways.

WooCommerce Cart requires WooCommerce to be installed and active. Configure its payment gateways in WooCommerce.

Independent Gateways

Depending on installed modules and configuration, Bookup can provide:

• Free: Used when nothing is payable.
• On-Site Payment: Collect payment in person.
• Wire Transfer: Show bank-transfer instructions and reconcile payment manually.
• Stripe Pro: Card and supported Stripe payment methods, using your public and secret keys.
• PayPal Standard Pro: PayPal checkout using client credentials and sandbox/live configuration.

Gateway configuration can include a display name, order, checkout comments, an appreciation message/page, and automatic-confirmation behavior.

Configure and Test Payments

1. Choose WooCommerce Cart or Independent Gateways.
2. Enable the gateway(s) you want to offer.
3. Add required credentials and instructions.
4. Save the settings.
5. Publish or update an offering with a paid booking option.
6. Test the full booking and payment flow in a private browser window.
7. Confirm the resulting payment and booking statuses under Bookup → Bookings.

Important Payment Notes

• Offline gateways do not collect money automatically; staff must reconcile payment.
• Paid gateways appear only when the booking has a payable amount and the gateway is enabled/configured.
• Payment comments and appreciation content can support HTML and shortcodes; restrict editing to trusted administrators.
• Bookup Pro Pro is required for online payment workflows.
