How to fix the Listdom license activation issues?
هذا المحتوى غير متوفر بلغتك بعد.
License activation is required in order to keep your Listdom plugins and add-ons updated and working properly. In some cases, users may face issues when trying to activate their license keys. This article explains the different error messages you may see, why they happen, and what you can do to resolve them.
Download and Use the Latest Version
Section titled “Download and Use the Latest Version”The first step in troubleshooting license issues is always to make sure that you are using the latest version of the plugin or add-on. Old versions may have bugs or outdated licensing checks that prevent successful activation. Log in to your Listdom account, download the most recent release, and install it on your site. Then try activating your license key again.
Check That You Are Using the Correct License Key
Section titled “Check That You Are Using the Correct License Key”Each Listdom product has its own unique license key. For example, the CSV Addon has a different license key from the Reviews Addon or the Subscriptions Addon. If you try to activate a product with the license key for another product, it will fail and you will see an error message such as “License not meant for this product”. Double-check your account and ensure that the key you are entering corresponds to the exact product you are trying to activate.
License Shows as Outdated or Expired
Section titled “License Shows as Outdated or Expired”One of the most common problems is when the license shows up as expired, even after renewal. In these cases, the license status simply needs to be refreshed. You can do this by deactivating the license and then activating it again. This can be done either from within your WordPress site (through the Listdom → Licenses page) or from your Listdom account dashboard. If your license has actually expired, then you will need to renew it before activation will work again.
License Already Used on Another Site
Section titled “License Already Used on Another Site”Another frequent issue happens when the license is still active on a different site. For example, many users activate their license on a staging or development site while they are building their project. Later, when they attempt to use the same license on their live site, they see an error message such as:
“The license key is either invalid, expired, not meant for this product, or has reached its activation limit.”
This means that the license is still tied to another site. To fix this, log in to your Listdom account and deactivate the license from the old site. After deactivation, you will be able to activate the license on your new site without a problem. If you genuinely need to use the license on multiple domains, you will need to upgrade your plan to a multi-site license.
Activation Limit Reached
Section titled “Activation Limit Reached”Sometimes the problem is not with a staging site, but simply that you are trying to use the license on more sites than it allows. A single-site license cannot be used on more than one domain. If you see an error that says the activation limit has been reached, you need to either deactivate the license on the sites you no longer use or upgrade your license to a plan that covers more domains.
Wrong or Invalid Product Key
Section titled “Wrong or Invalid Product Key”Users occasionally copy and paste the wrong license key or accidentally use an extra space at the beginning or end of the key. This results in errors such as “License key is invalid”. Always copy the license directly from your account page and paste it carefully into the activation field, making sure there are no additional characters or spaces.
Connectivity Issues with the Licensing Server
Section titled “Connectivity Issues with the Licensing Server”In some rare cases, your website may not be able to connect to the Webilia licensing server. This can happen because of a firewall on your hosting provider, blocked outbound requests, or other server configuration issues. If you suspect this is the problem, contact your hosting provider and ask them to ensure that outgoing connections to listdom.net are allowed. Without this connection, the plugin cannot validate your license key.
When to Contact Support
Section titled “When to Contact Support”If you have tried all of the above solutions and your license is still not activating, the final step is to reach out to the Listdom support team. Please provide the following information when submitting your request:
- The product name (e.g., CSV Addon, Reviews Addon).
- The license key you are trying to activate.
- Your WordPress site URL and admin access (temporary).
- A description of the exact error message you are seeing.
This information will allow the support team to quickly identify the problem and help you resolve it.
